We took the bus from Mount Lavinia back to Colombo. As I understand it there are government operated buses and private buses whose fairs match those of the government. Surprisingly, the bus ride cost more than the train ride, but both were extremely inexpensive compared to the US ... the train was 100 Rupees or about 0.10 USD and the bus was more like 200 Rupees of 0.20 USD. The picture is crooked because the ride was rather bouncy and we were always swinging left and right as the driver passed slower drivers/pedestrians/bikes/triwheelers on the right and then swung left to unload and load passengers.Sunday, February 1, 2009

100 Rupees?? is incorrect it has to be ten rupees or twenty rupees.
