Leaving Battaramulla - 29 January

I'm really struggling getting the lay of the land in Colombo. Hans has a shortcut to get anywhere and a long cut that avoids heavy congestion on traffic-jammed shortcuts. We never go the same way twice. We'll be driving along and approach a landmark that I recognize but from a different direction. That coupled with the fact that traffic flows opposite to that in the States has my usually half-decent sense of direction all out of whack. I learned today that Hans' house is in Battaramula, a suburb located SE of Colombo city. Anyway, this morning I enjoyed my last breakfast with Hans and Beverley and then was handed-off to the Colombo Reconnections Rotary Club. Colombo Reconnections is one of only two Rotary clubs in the world formed by GSE Team alumni, but now there are many members who are not GSE'ers. The photo is of my first host family Hans and Beverley in their garden.
